    How it works – a step by step guide

    1. Sign up to the Benchmark Group and create your free Databox account
    2. Connect your Google Ads account data source
    3. Verify your email address with your Databox account
    4. Sign in to Databox and visit the Benchmark Group
    5. Book your free Benchmark Consultation Call

    Before you start

    You will need your

    • Company email address
    • Google Ads account login email address
      • Gmail address, or
      • Google Workspace account
    • Google Ads account ID, which looks like 123-456-7890

    This can be found when logged in to your ads account in the top right-hand corner of the screen


    1. When you have this, click this link to view the Benchmark Group sign up page

    Click the green Sign up button to see the Get started screen

    Note that at this time, all fields are *required*

    Enter your

    • Company email
    • Name
    • Company name
    • Website URL (note that https://www.mysite.com format is required)
      • Copy and paste your website URL from your browser for convenience
      • Or if you don’t have a website yet, just use https://www.mysite.com
    • Create a strong password
      • Most browsers will suggest and remember a strong password by right-clicking in this field

    You can skip these steps by signing up with your Google account.

    Finally click the purple Create account button to proceed to selecting your account type:

    Choose the default of Company or individual, and click the purple Confirm button, or you can skip this step

    Finally, submit your Company information

    Use the drop-down list to select all that apply in each required field*

    • Industry*
    • Annual revenue*
    • Employees*
    • Business model*
    • All other fields are optional

    E.g

    Click the purple Complete registration button.

    Your Databox account setup is now complete.


    1. To be able to see your own Google Ads benchmarks and to compare with the group, the next step is to Connect your data to the Benchmarks Group.

    For this step you will need your Google Ads account ID and its associated Gmail or Workspace address, which you identified earlier.

    Click the green Connect button and sign in with your Google email address and password

    You may be challenged with 2-Step Verification

    Allow Databox to access your Google Account

    Click the Allow button

    If you have access to a Manager Account, or more than one Google Ads account, select the correct one from the list and click the green Continue button

    Then select the Customer Account and click the green Continue button

    Click the purple Continue button to Connect your data to Benchmarks

    Your Google Ads data source setup is now complete.


    Your email address now needs to be verified.

    Before you can login to the group and access your personalized benchmark data, go to your email Inbox

    Verify your email

    Then return to the Benchmark Group at


    1. You can now sign in with the company email address and password you registered at the start.

    Your Benchmark numbers may not be immediately available until Databox has synchronised with your Google Ads account.
